Sean Hannity, berating guest Robert Kuttner for accurately describing our economy as being in “dire straits,” 9/10/2008:
Unemployment in this country has been lower than the last four decades. Economic growth in the last quarter was 6.3%. Interest rates, inflation have been lower in the Bush years than they’ve been in the last three decades, and you are trying to convince the people of America that something is awry…You’re saying dire straits, you know what? Here is the position you Democrats are in…We had record unemployment compared to the last four decades, lower than the last four decades average. 3.3% growth and you’re using the term “dire.” You’ve got to convince the American people the economy is in bad shape…and it’s all based on a lie. That’s not true!
(Originally noted by Media Matters)Sean Hannity, 10/12/09 on Al Gore’s accurate assessment of the reality of Global Warming: The vanquished Vice President doesn’t think there’s room for debate on Climate Change. I do. The debate’s over. There’s no Global Warming….
Hannity to guest who accurately characterized voter ID laws as voter suppression aimed at minorities: Do you have any shame? Any? At all? Tell me!
Is there some reason Hannity still has a show? Is he operating as a sort of reverse oracle, in which viewers can assess his sheer wrongness by how loud, obnoxious, and insulting he is?
