Bryan J. Fischer tweets:

…we need an Underground Railroad to deliver innocent children from same-sex households.
Fischer has been commenting lately on the Lisa Miller case, a kidnapping in which one of two women married in a civil union declared herself ex-gay, snatched their child, and ran off to Central America. In his tweets defending his little call-out to kidnappers, he keeps citing the fact that Lisa Miller is the child’s biological mother, while the other parent is not.
Does anyone really believe Fischer would be denouncing the kidnapping if it were the biological mother who still identified as lesbian, and it were the adoptive mother who decided she wasn’t gay anymore and ran off with the child?
There are echoes here of The Republic of Gilead, the version of America in Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel, The Handmaid’s Tale. In The Handmaid’s Tale, the children of parents deemed by the fundamentalist leaders as “unfit” are, early in the regime, often simply kidnapped.
…she was three or four, in daycare…There was a School Pool that was supposed to pick them up, but for some reason I wanted Luke to do it. I was getting worried even about the School Pool. No children walked to school anymore, there had been so many disappearances.
