What’s More Disturbing than some Racist Setting Fire to a Black Person’s House?

Another racist calmly and smilingly justifying it.

Man in Buffalo, New York, reporting to news that a black immigrant’s house in the neighborhood was deliberately set on fire: I think that if people just stayed on their own side of town, their own neighborhood, that things like that wouldn’t happen…Every race and color has their own section of Buffalo almost, so, if they just stay on their own side things like this wouldn’t happen. People in these neighborhoods don’t want those type of people moving down here and ruining the property value and destroying the neighborhood. So when things like that happen it shouldn’t be such a shock.

Reporter: What do you mean by “those types of people.”

Man in Buffalo: (GRIN) Minorities. African Americans…They’ve already wrecked the East Side, why should they come down to the South Side and wreck that neighborhood?…A lot of people feel this way, they just won’t say it.

Note, by the way, the title on the video – “White Man Speaks out Against the Detroiting of Buffalo New York.”

What’s more disturbing than some smarmy racist repeating white supremacist crap?

Andrew Klavan, a writer who’s been featured in The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Los Angeles Times, writing a piece about this and about how he’s worried – that the racist will “suffer retribution at work and in other ways for speaking directly” and, Klavan says, “manfully.”

The mainstreaming of racism is becoming harder and harder to deny.
